Large group was once again pretty good yesterday. I am still a firm believer that our worship team is pretty money, and we're blessed with some great staff workers. I just can't thank God enough for all the blessings he's poured out into our fellowship. But after hearing Nikki's talk yesterday, I'm starting to realize more and more just how limited our perceptions and views of what we think God wants can be. I don't know if that makes any sense, but let's just say I'm beginning to recognize just how big we can dream...

We showed the video yesterday after a few technical hiccups. The first time the projector just burnt out, so we all thought that we wouldn't be able to show it that day, but the projector came on and all was seemingly right in the world. Until they started playing the video and it started playing without the sound. I was screaming "Stop it!!! Move the cursor!!!" But I think after it started playing they really enjoyed it. What will this week's trailer be?? You'll just have to come to large group. Hehhe.

I'm at home right now for Chusok (Korean Thanksgiving) and after eating quite well, I shall be returning to Berk.

OMG, Justin and I finished editing this video that we're going to play tomorrow at large group for fall conference. It's SOOOOO money. Well maybe you guys won't think so, but considering the amount of work we put into it, and also considering how well we did with the little time that we had (basically one day), it's pretty impressive. It's kinda crazy to think that we managed to put 17 minutes of footage into a minute and a half. The few people we've shown it to have seemed to think that it was pretty cool. Granted there are some scenes I think we could have done a little better, but the other scenes more than make up for it. You want to see it? You'll have to come to large group tomorrow to see what it's like. :)

Sometimes I think it would be kind of cool to have a secret blog, where only myself and MAYBE a few select individuals would know about. But then again, that got me thinking. Why would I have a secret blog? That would only be necessary if I had felt and thought some things that I didn't want everyone to hear about right? Well what kind of things would that be? Then I realized that blog could probably turn into a forum for me talk trash about people which wouldn't be healthy. Or the frequency of updated posts on that blog would most likely be contingent on whether I liked anyone at the time. So you might see a number of posts for a few weeks or for a few months, and then you'd probably see nothing again for a little bit, and then a flurry of posts as soon as I liked someone else. So yeh, as of now this is what you guys get. But then how do you know I don't already have a secret blog?? Oh scandalous.

As for my classes:
Drama 10: I like it a lot. Some of the stuff in there is simply brilliant. And it's really fun as well. How often do you find yourself bent over in laughter in a lecture?

Sociology 1: My second favorite class. My gsi is a tool and treats our classes like it's middle school, but my professor is really cool. He's actually got a sense of humor.

Mass Com 10: Eh, it's alrite. The material itself is pretty fascinating, and the lecturer is "eh." My gsi, while not brilliant, still manages to make section pretty interesting. Some people in the class annoy me though.

Religious Studies 90A: Barf.

I'm gonna shower I think. And do some reading. Yes.

"It's the smoke from the spark when the sulfur hits
she'll just remember she felt something.
So much for see you around
so much for seeing at all
don't leave me in the trivia

With a turn and a twist she gets her wish.
Give it a name and baby that's how it stays.
With a turn and a twist she gets her wish.
Over the threshold,
over and out."

I have some extra time before my next and final (thank goodness) class at four.

Had I been able to keep up with this blog this week I could have been able to go into detail about some of the interesting stuff that I've done, or seen, or talk about some of the conversations I've had, but instead here I am sitting blankly at a computer screen trying to remember just some of the things I've mentioned above. It's like grabbing at feathers and leaves as they float down unpredictably in the wind. Ok, maybe not, but I'm still grabbing for something here.

This past weekend was pretty interesting. After large group (which I thought was really good. Emotional, but really good), some people hit up the Asian Ghetto. I swear that place is turning into the After large group party area. Just swing by the front of the ghetto around ten o' clock on Friday nights and you're bound to find someone from IV enjoying some boba, or a top dog.

After that, some people went over to Eric's. He had this idea of videotaping and improv skit which basically involved five guys wearing ridiculously tight and bizarre outfits, and Liz wearing a red jumpsuit. Their only props were machettes, a Monsters inc doll, and some funky hats. Sound bizarre? You have no idea. I dunno if it was the sight of seeing five college guys in the most bizarre outfits ever, or if it was the fact that Eric was frighteningly very excited about the idea of being dressed in tight clothes, or the fact that the skit itself was pretty darn funny, but all in all that was bizarre.

I went home on Saturday afternoon after Kev came up to pick me up. I spent most of the day just hanging out with him, going to the new church, and spending some time with the family. I went back later that night with Kev, to return to another fun game of wiffle ball. The only problem was that we didn't have a wiffle ball, or a wiffle ball bat, so we had to use Elvin's tennis balls and a my water jug. We were all having a hard time gripping the jug, so a lot of times after we took a swing, you'd see the jug flying into the air barely missing people's heads.

But it was still pretty fun. I think this is why I like hanging out with these guys so much. Granted there are nights where we just sit around and watch a movie or play Halo (which is still fun mind you), but we can still do crazy random stuff to spend our time. I think it's because we have this ability to be creative and not mull in the typical "hey let's get wasted!!!" type of social fare, that I enjoy hanging out with them so much. I still believe that you can have fun with whatever you do, depending on whether or not you allow yourself to and who you're with, but I mean, when was the last time YOU played wiffle ball with a water jug and a tennis ball in a parking lot? Eh? Eh? You should try it some time.
